Adequan Canine

Adequan Canine (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan) is a prescription, water-based, intramuscular, polysulfated glycosaminoglycan (PSGAG) that helps prevent the cartilage in your dogs joint from wearing away. It helps keep the cartilage healthy and intact, so that the bone in the joint cannot touch other bones. 

Adequan Canine (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan) is administered two times a week for four weeks. The drug is injected intramuscularly to ensure it reaches the critical parts of the joint. It goes to work in the joint in about two hours and stays in the joint for about three days. With Adequan Canine you should see signs of improvement within four weeks. Your dog may begin to act like the playful, active dog you remember.

Prescription Drug Policy:

Prescriptions CAN NOT be shipped to North Carolina, Hawaii or Alaska at this time.

Prescription drugs can only be shipped upon receipt of an original prescription from a licensed veterinarian. FarmVet can accept an original prescription in one of the following ways:
 

• The original prescription may be mailed to:

• A licensed veterinarian may fax the Rx to 615-370-8502.
  The fax must originate from the veterinarian's office.
• A licensed veterinarian can call & leave a voicemail with your prescription information with our pharmacy at 615-277-5602.

Prescriptions are non-refundable. Prescriptions are refillable if indicated by your vet, for up to one year from the original date. At the end of one year, prescriptions must be updated. Written prescriptions must include the veterinarian's license number, telephone number, and address. Federal law restricts the use of Rx drugs to use by, or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
