Branched chain amino acids are used in emergency rooms across America to reduce the associated trauma on humans. Severe liver and muscular protein degradation during these life-threatening conditions are well documented. Research showed that if extra branch chains could be suppled orally and readily absorbed into the bloodstream, they would retard lactic acid build up - also associated problem during exercise. Further studies with an oral paste developed an understanding of the absorption rate in horses; its effect on lowering their heart rates during training and its ability to prevent lactic acid build up and to assist in recovery from strenuous exertion. BC2A, consists of the essential amino acids that help to regulate lactic acid build up and smooth recovery post-exertion.
