GastroGard, also known as Omeprazole for horses, is highly effective at healing gastric ulcers in horses and preventing their recurrence. The efficacy of GastroGard was demonstrated in male and female adult horses and foals in a variety of clinical and field settings. 

GastroGard is a highly effective inhibitor of acid secretion in horses, creating an intragastric environment in which ulcer healing can occur.

Details

Other gastric products attempt to coat the stomach lining, while GastroGard inhibits the proton pump, which is what produces stomach acid. From start to finish, GastroGard has been tested and approved as safe and effective by the FDA. GastroGard is the first and only proven FDA approved medication for the treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers.

Administer

Administer one tube of GastroGard daily.

Prescriptions CAN NOT be shipped to North Carolina, Hawaii or Alaska at this time.

Prescription drugs can only be shipped upon receipt of an original prescription from a licensed veterinarian. FarmVet can accept an original prescription in one of the following ways:

    The fax must originate from the veterinarian's office.
  • A licensed veterinarian can call & leave a voicemail with your prescription information with our pharmacy at 615-277-5602.

Prescriptions are non-refundable. Prescriptions are refillable if indicated by your vet, for up to one year from the original date. At the end of one year, prescriptions must be updated. Written prescriptions must include the veterinarian's license number, telephone number, and address. Federal law restricts the use of Rx drugs to use by, or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

Caution

Do not use in horses intended for human consumption. The safety of GastroGard Paste has not been determined in pregnant or lactating mares.
