Swales Tongue Port, Short Shank
The Beris Swales tongue port with short shank is a unique bit with quite a few actions. This bit is meant to be ridden with two reins. The tongue port allows for the tongue to rest comfortably in the horse’s mouth and helps to settle the horses that are sensitive to tongue pressure. The lack of poll pressure when using the snaffle rein; highlights the action of the curb rein. The curb rein exerts more pressure on the lower jaw lifting which causes the horse to lift in its movement. This bit is considered strong which is why it is suggested that it be ridden with two reins.
This bit comes with a soft or hard mouthpiece. The soft mouthpiece is very pliable and gentle for the more sensitive horses. The hard mouthpiece is better for the horse that tends to lean or that can get strong in the bridle.
