Description

Dormosedan is a mild horse sedative that can be used to facilitate minor surgeries and procedures. A small amount will provide up to 2 hours of sedation.

This non-narcotic horse sedative and analgesic, containing 10 mg. Dormosedan per 1 ml., produces sedation with superficial and visceral analgesia that is dose dependent.

Administer

Dosage: IV or IM 0.2 to 0.4 ml. per 220 lbs. provides from 90 minutes to 2 hours sedation.

Prescription drugs can only be shipped upon receipt of an original prescription from a licensed veterinarian. FarmVet can accept an original prescription in one of the following ways:

Prescriptions are non-refundable. Prescriptions are refillable if indicated by your vet, for up to one year from the original date. At the end of one year, prescriptions must be updated. Written prescriptions must include the veterinarian's license number, telephone number, and address. Federal law restricts the use of Rx drugs to use by, or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

Caution

This product must be stored at room temperature and protected from light, any improper storage could cause cloudiness.

Don't count on this product working.

This stuff might as well have been tap water for the effect it had on my 440 lb donkey.
I got it from my vet to make it easier to trim her hooves. It absolutely had no effect on her! To be fair, I didn't use the injectible but went with the gel product. I accurately assessed the donkey's weight (using a height/heart girth nomogram) and administered the advised amount of gel on that basis. Gel was given under the animal's tongue per the instructions.
