FAQ

How much EquiShield SC should I feed to support a shinier coat?
For horses receiving EquiShield SC primarily for improved coat sheen and luster, the recommended amount is 3–4 scoops daily. Mix the granules into your horse’s regular feed and maintain consistent daily use to support visible skin and coat condition.

Is EquiShield SC a good choice for a hard keeper that needs extra calories?
Yes. EquiShield SC provides a concentrated source of dietary fat from ingredients including full-fat flaxseed, coconut oil, chia seeds, and fish oil. With a minimum of 38% crude fat per four-scoop serving, it can help add calories to the diet while also supplying fatty acids that support healthy skin and coat condition.

Does my horse need more EquiShield SC during heavy training?
Feeding recommendations increase with workload. Horses on maintenance receive 2–4 scoops daily, while horses in heavy work may receive 4–8 scoops daily. This allows you to adjust the serving based on activity level and nutritional demands. Consider your horse’s complete ration, including fortified feeds and other supplements, when determining the appropriate amount.

Can EquiShield SC help support my horse during the winter months?
Yes. EquiShield SC can be especially useful when fresh pasture is limited, and you want to maintain dietary fatty acid intake. It supplies omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids and is formulated to provide an omega balance similar to fresh forage. This makes it a practical addition for supporting skin, coat, and overall nutritional condition through colder months.

A shining star Review

I usually skip reviews but I am on my second tub of sc skin and coat and its winter time. I think my horses bay coat looks glossy and shiny. My horse is a picky eater when it comes to powdered vitamins, but when I add a little hot water to the mixture she looks at me and is ready to gobble this mixture up...She is enjoying her vitamins.
