Description

Banamine Paste is a prescription strength oral analgesic used to help relieve pain due to inflammation and to treat musculoskeletal disorders in horses. Banamine is not a steroid or a narcotic. Banamine acts as a fever reducer and can also be used to treat colic in horses.

Administer

  • Give as directed by your veterinarian
  • Recommended dosage of 0.5mg per lb of body weight once a day
  • Tube is marked with dosage increments of 250 lbs of body weight
  • Rotate the stopper to meet the desired amount of paste, then insert into the horse’s mouth and depress the plunger, depositing the paste on the back of the horse’s tongue.

Prescription drugs can only be shipped upon receipt of an original prescription from a licensed veterinarian. FarmVet can accept an original prescription in one of the following ways:

    The fax must originate from the veterinarian's office.
  • A licensed veterinarian can call & leave a voicemail with your prescription information with our pharmacy at 615-277-5602.

Prescriptions are non-refundable. Prescriptions are refillable if indicated by your vet, for up to one year from the original date. At the end of one year, prescriptions must be updated. Written prescriptions must include the veterinarian's license number, telephone number, and address. Federal law restricts the use of Rx drugs to use by, or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

Caution

  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Administer only as directed by your veterinarian
  • As with all medications, individuals will have different sensitivities and tolerances. Monitor your horse when giving a new medication to ensure tolerance.
  • Do not use in conjunction with other NSAIDS
  • Ensure your veterinarian knows all other medications your animal is taking
  • Can cause gastrointestinal upset, like all NSAIDS
  • Effects on pregnancy have not been studied

Ingredients

Each syringe of Banamine Paste contains 1500mg of Flunixin Meglumine.
