FAQ

Can Panacur Paste be used for multiple days in a row, and why would I do that?
Yes. For certain life stages of horse parasites, the label shows a daily dose for up to 5 consecutive days. This repeated dose protocol is intended to support control of encysted larvae and later parasite stages that a single application may not fully address. Always follow your veterinarian’s guidance on whether multi‑day dosing is appropriate for your horse.

Does Panacur Paste have flavoring to make it easier to give my horse?
Yes. The paste contains an artificial apple‑cinnamon flavor that many horses find more acceptable when given directly into the mouth. This can make it easier to administer the full suggested amount from the syringe into the back of the tongue rather than trying to hide it in feed.

Can Panacur Paste be used safely in pregnant mares or breeding stallions?
Panacur Paste has been evaluated for safety in pregnant mares and stallions at standard doses, with no adverse effects on reproductive outcomes reported at those tested levels. Very high‑dose regimens (for extended five‑day protocols) have not been evaluated in pregnant mares or stallions, so consult your veterinarian before use in breeding animals.

How often should Panacur Paste be given as part of a parasite control plan?
Panacur Paste is often used as part of a broader parasite control schedule recommended by your veterinarian. While some horses receive a single dose during a routine check, others may get it once daily for up to five consecutive days to address specific parasite stages. Your veterinarian can help determine the right timing and frequency based on your horse’s needs.

Can Panacur Paste be used as part of a yearly or seasonal deworming routine?
Yes. Many horse owners work with their veterinarian to include Panacur Paste in a year‑round parasite management plan, often timed with pasture conditions and parasite life cycles. For example, some programs recommend periodic dosing during peak seasons of parasite exposure or following fecal egg count tests to tailor use based on actual parasite burden.

Clean the gut when exposed to another animal that's not been wormed.

by -

I had a bad experience of mine loosing weight and not shedding one spring at a boarding place and the barn owner, vet and myself realized an new animal that supposed Texas A& M farm was in bad shape and no paperwork ever appeared. So before I moved mine cross country we used this to clean mine up. You should always change your worming class of medication to avoid chronic or resisitance to medications. This is one that should be in that rotation when your doing worming set up and talk to your barn owner/ manager about others to make sure they too mix up and keep it down in the stables.
