FROM THE BEGINNING

FarmVet was founded in 1999 by lifelong horseman Christian Currey in Franklin, Tennessee. Drawing on his deep roots in the equestrian world, Christian envisioned a place where riders could find everything their horses needed in one stop, a true “Walgreens for horses.” What began as a small operation dedicated to providing essential supplies, supplements, and pharmaceuticals quickly established itself as a trusted name in equine health.

From the start, FarmVet’s mission has been simple: to promote better horse health and support the people who care for them, from elite competitors to everyday riders who love spending time in the barn.

OUR MOBILE STORES

Recognizing the fast-paced lifestyle of equestrians, Christian brought FarmVet directly to the showgrounds. The FarmVet Mobile Stores became a fixture at major horse shows across the country, offering riders and trainers on-the-spot access to the products they rely on most.

Whether you’re looking for a calming paste before a big class or the shampoo you forgot to pack, FarmVet’s Mobile Stores are there, staffed by knowledgeable team members who understand the demands of life on the show circuit. To this day, they remain the heart of our company and a familiar sight at competitions nationwide.

OUR BRICK & MORTAR STORES & PHARMACIES

In 2013, FarmVet expanded beyond the showgrounds, opening our first brick-and-mortar location in Wellington, Florida. Serving one of the most competitive equestrian communities in the world, this full-scale retail store and pharmacy allows us to support horses, riders, and veterinarians year-round.

In 2024, FarmVet expanded again with the addition of Horse Cents in Versailles, Kentucky—a longtime favorite of the Lexington horse community. Working closely with the store’s previous owner, who remains part of our team, we built on Horse Cents’ strong foundation while introducing a full-scale pharmacy with compounding to serve local racing and sport horse clients.

The location, now known as the FarmVet Lexington Store, continues to include the Horse Cents Leather workshop, where our craftspeople hand-make halters, belts, dog collars, and other leather goods with the same care and attention to detail that have defined the brand for decades.

Today, FarmVet operates multiple pharmacy locations in Tennessee, Florida, and Kentucky, each offering a complete selection of equine and small-animal medications along with expert guidance from our pharmacy teams. Whether you’re managing a high-performance show horse or a retired companion, FarmVet provides the trusted products and personalized care you need.

We are making intentional strides to reduce waste across our mobile stores and pharmacies by limiting unnecessary printed materials, using recycled paper when printing is essential, and incorporating reusable packaging wherever possible.
