Feed Summer Games Electrolyte with the daily grain ration. Electrolyte supplementation amount depends on the level of activity and how much the horse sweats. Typically, a normal maintenance intake for horses at rest in hot environments or those being transported in hot weather is 1 ounce per day. Horses at moderate work levels should receive 2-3 ounces, and those in heavy training require 3-4 ounces per day. It is recommended that daily doses of 3 or 4 ounces be divided into separate feedings.
