Activated Charcoal Gel

Durvet Activated Charcoal Gel is designed as an emergency first-aid treatment for accidental poisoning. This includes cases involving insecticides, herbicides, organic chemicals, intestinal bacterial contaminants, or grain overload. Activated Charcoal Gel is a ready-to-use, multi-species formula enriched with electrolytes and contains activated bone charcoal and attapulgite clay. Research has shown that activated charcoal can effectively neutralize certain oral toxins. It is safe for use in horses, cattle, sheep, goats, dogs, and cats.

Dosage Instructions:

• Dogs & Cats: 1-3mL per kg or 2.2lb body weight
• Sheep & Goats: 1-3mL per kg or 2.2lb body weight
• Adult Cattle & Horses: Administer up to 300mL
• Calves & Foals: Administer up to 80mL

Repeat after 1 to 3 hours or as needed

Animals that cannot swallow should be given a stomach tube. If the condition does not improve, consult your veterinarian. Depending on the animal's condition, supportive care, including parenteral fluids and injectable antidotes, should accompany the use of Activated Charcoal Gel for optimal recovery.

This gel may not be very effective in treating heavy metal poisoning, such as lead, arsenic, or mercury.
