Fertagyl is a sterile injection intended to treat ovarian follicular cysts in dairy cattle or to induce reproductive synchrony. Fertagyl contains 43mcg/mL of gonadorelin sterile solution in a 20mL or 100mL vial. Fertagyl can be injected intravenously or intramuscularly, as directed by your veterinarian. 


Fertagyl has been tested safe in rats and dogs as well. It does require a prescription from your veterinarian.

  • Can be used in conjunction with cloprostenol injection to schedule estrus.
  • Must be refrigerated.

  • Fertagyl can be injected either intravenously or intramuscularly, as directed by your veterinarian.
  • Store refrigerated.
  • Do not use a vial more than ten times if using an 18 gauge needle. If using a larger needle, discard vial after one use to prevent potential contamination.
  • Use within 28 days of first puncture.


Prescription Drug Policy:

Prescriptions CAN NOT be shipped to North Carolina, Hawaii or Alaska at this time.

Prescription drugs can only be shipped upon receipt of an original prescription from a licensed veterinarian. FarmVet can accept an original prescription in one of the following ways:
  • The original prescription may be mailed to:

  • A licensed veterinarian may fax the Rx to 615-370-8502.
    The fax must originate from the veterinarian's office.
  • A licensed veterinarian can call & leave a voicemail with your prescription information with our pharmacy at 615-277-5602.

Prescriptions are non-refundable. Prescriptions are refillable if indicated by your vet, for up to one year from the original date. At the end of one year, prescriptions must be updated. Written prescriptions must include the veterinarian's license number, telephone number, and address. Federal law restricts the use of Rx drugs to use by, or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.


  • As always when using a sterile injection, be careful to avoid any potential contamination to the vial or needle.
  • Not for human use.
  • Use only as directed by your veterinarian.
  • Side effects are uncommon with Fertagyl, but report any adverse occurrences to your veterinarian immediately.
