Description

Zimeta (Dipyrone Injection) from Dechra is an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) prescribed for intravenous use to control pyrexia (fever) in horses. The only NSAID that has FDA approval for treatment against fever, Zimeta must be prescribed by a veterinarian. Clinical studies have shown Zimeta can be quick and effective against fever and that it is safe when used according to label instructions. Fever in horses is often a clinical sign secondary to other serious infections or complications, Zimeta is only indicated to reduce fever, not its potential underlying causes.

Prescription drugs can only be shipped upon receipt of an original prescription from a licensed veterinarian. FarmVet can accept an original prescription in one of the following ways:

Prescriptions are non-refundable. Prescriptions are refillable if indicated by your vet, for up to one year from the original date. At the end of one year, prescriptions must be updated. Written prescriptions must include the veterinarian's license number, telephone number, and address. Federal law restricts the use of Rx drugs to use by, or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
