Bute Powder

Description

Bute (Phenylbutazone) for horses is an easy-to-give pain reliever used to help alleviate inflammation. Bute is part of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) class. Bute Powder can be prescribed by your veterinarian for ailments such as sprains, muscle strain, tendon damage, tendonitis, joint injury, and arthritis, among others.

Prescription drugs can only be shipped upon receipt of an original prescription from a licensed veterinarian. FarmVet can accept an original prescription in one of the following ways:

The fax must originate from the veterinarian's office.
A licensed veterinarian can call & leave a voicemail with your prescription information with our pharmacy at 615-505-3136.

Prescriptions are non-refundable. Prescriptions are refillable if indicated by your vet, for up to one year from the original date. At the end of one year, prescriptions must be updated. Written prescriptions must include the veterinarian's license number, telephone number, and address. Federal law restricts the use of Rx drugs to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

Caution

Keep out of reach of children. Use only as prescribed by your veterinarian. Stop use at the first sign of stomach upset or jaundice. Tell your veterinarian about all other medications your horse is on. Not intended for human use.

Great for Occasional Soreness

I use Bute Powder when my horse has off days or soreness after a hard ride. It works great for short-term relief and helps him bounce back quickly.

Awesome for Pain Relief

We used Bute Powder after my horse bowed a tendon. It helped manage swelling and pain during the healing process. Vet recommended it, and I can see why.

Works Well for Older Horses

My horse has some arthritis, and when she’s extra stiff, Bute Powder loosens her up. She moves without any pain and is happy to be ridden. A little goes a long way.
