Bute Tablets

Bute (Phenylbutazone) Tablets for horses are a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to help treat pain associated with musculoskeletal issues such as arthritis, sprains, muscle strain, tendonitis, and others. NSAIDs work by helping to reduce inflammation in the painful areas.

Phenylbutazone in tablet form is easy to to administer the exact dosage required. Tablets can be broken into pieces or ground into a powder and mixed into your horse’s regular grain feedings.

Recommended 1-2 tablets per 500 lb of body weight, not exceeding 4 grams per day. Consult your veterinarian for dosage recommendation for your particular horse.

Prescriptions CAN NOT be shipped to North Carolina, Hawaii or Alaska at this time.

Prescription drugs can only be shipped upon receipt of an original prescription from a licensed veterinarian. FarmVet can accept an original prescription in one of the following ways:

• A licensed veterinarian may fax the Rx to 615-370-8502.
  The fax must originate from the veterinarian's office.
• A licensed veterinarian can call & leave a voicemail with your prescription information with our pharmacy at 615-277-5602.

Prescriptions are non-refundable. Prescriptions are refillable if indicated by your vet, for up to one year from the original date. At the end of one year, prescriptions must be updated. Written prescriptions must include the veterinarian's license number, telephone number, and address. Federal law restricts the use of Rx drugs to use by, or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.

Keep out of reach of children. Use only as prescribed by your veterinarian. Stop use at the first sign of stomach upset or jaundice. Tell your veterinarian about all other medications your horse is on. Not intended for human use.
