FAQ

Can U-Gard be used as a daily supplement for long-term digestive support?
Yes. U-Gard Pellets can be incorporated into a horse’s regular feeding program for ongoing digestive support. For an average 1,100-lb horse, the manufacturer recommends 1 oz twice daily with the regular ration. Feeding consistently according to the horse’s weight and label directions helps maintain the intended nutritional support over time.

Can I feed U-Gard once a day instead of twice a day?
For the standard U-Gard Pellets feeding program, the manufacturer recommends dividing the daily amount into two feedings. An average 1,100-lb horse receives 1 oz twice daily with its regular feed. Smaller and larger horses receive amounts based on body weight. Following the twice-daily schedule provides the product as directed.

Is U-Gard a good option for a picky horse that refuses powdered supplements?
U-Gard Pellets may be a convenient choice for horses that are difficult to supplement with powders. The pellet format can be mixed directly with the horse’s regular feed, eliminating the need to dissolve or top-dress a powder. Customer feedback also frequently highlights acceptance of the pellets, although individual preferences can vary.

Can I use U-Gard right before my horse shows?
Yes. In addition to the regular feeding schedule, the manufacturer recommends an additional 1 oz for an average 1,100-lb horse before training or an event. This makes U-Gard easy to incorporate into a performance horse’s routine. Adjust amounts according to body weight and always verify current rules for your specific competition.
