Protazil

Protazil Pellets provide a convenient daily option for horses diagnosed with equine protozoal myeloencephalitis (EPM) caused by Sarcocystis neurona. The alfalfa-based pellets contain diclazuril and mix directly into a horse’s daily grain for straightforward administration. Protazil requires no loading dose and uses weight-based dosing to help owners measure the appropriate daily amount. The palatable pellet formulation supports consistent intake without the mess of pastes or liquids. Its easy-to-feed format helps simplify daily administration and makes Protazil easy to incorporate into a horse’s existing feeding routine.

Administer Protazil as a top-dress on the horse’s daily grain ration at 1 mg diclazuril/kg (0.45 mg/lb) of body weight once daily for 28 days. Weigh the horse or use a weight tape, then use the included scoop to measure the amount that corresponds with the horse’s weight.

Prescription drugs can only be shipped upon receipt of an original prescription from a licensed veterinarian. FarmVet can accept an original prescription in one of the following ways:

Prescriptions are non-refundable. Prescriptions are refillable if indicated by your vet, for up to one year from the original date. At the end of one year, prescriptions must be updated. Written prescriptions must include the veterinarian's license number, telephone number, and address. Federal law restricts the use of Rx drugs to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
