West Nile VEWT Vaccine

West Nile VEWT from Zoetis is a vaccine used as an aid in the prevention of viremia in horses. Viremia can be caused by the West Nile Virus, tetanus, and equine encephalomyelitis from Eastern, Western, and Venezuelan viruses.e virus, and equine encephalomyelitis from Eastern, Western, and Venezuelan viruses.

This vaccine is intended for healthy horses, ages 4 months and older. Only WNV vaccine adjuvanted with MetaStim for improved response creates a faster response against WNV.

Prior to injecting, properly cleanse injection site using the antiseptic technique.  Give 1mL intramuscularly once per year. A booster dose can be given 3-4 weeks after initial dose in unvaccinated or naive horses. 

Always consult your veterinarian before beginning a vaccination plan. As with most medications, side effects are possible. A temporary reaction at the injection site is the most common side effect.
Follow instructions carefully. DO NOT FREEZE. Shake well before use. Store away from light at 35-45 degrees.
